MIKE AMIE IS PROMOTED TO VICE PRESIDENT OF
COMPUTER ENGINEERING AT MGM MIRAGE
Las Vegas, Nevada, December 15, 2005 --MGM MIRAGE has promoted Mike Amie to the newly created position of Vice President of Computer Engineering. In this role, Amie is responsible for the administration of all activities related to computer engineering including budgets, staff, and computer receiving and warehousing operations. He reports to Glenn Bonner, MGM MIRAGE Chief Information Officer.
“A proven leader in technology operations, Mike’s rich and varied experiences will help ensure efficiency throughout our enterprise,” said Bonner.
Amie has worked in the information technology profession for more than 32 years, beginning with an appointment as data processing manager for a banking institution in Las Vegas. In 1985, his career in the gaming industry was launched when he joined the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino where he was responsible for monitoring and managing the company’s only computer. Subsequently, he helped expand the company’s computer operations. During his tenure there he held successive positions of increasing responsibility, including serving as department leader for seven years.
Prior to his current appointment, Amie was executive director of computer engineering at MGM MIRAGE where he was responsible for managing the company’s computer systems.
A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Amie graduated from Clark High School and attended Devry Institute in Phoenix, Arizona.
