MGM MIRAGE's Terry Lanni Regarded as a CEO Who "Gets It" in New Book
Diversity Best Practices releases first-ever CEO book on diversity
LAS VEGAS – November 1, 2006 – MGM MIRAGE Chairman and CEO Terry Lanni discusses the importance of diversity in business and life in a new book entitled CEOs Who Get It: Diversity Leadership from the Heart and Soul. Lanni, who is the driving force behind MGM MIRAGE's six-year old diversity initiative, is the only gaming industry CEO profiled in the book.
The book features corporate chairmen and chief executive officers who have unique and compelling personal stories about the importance of diversity in business. The corporate leaders also discuss poignant moments that shaped their diversity values.
"The 20 leaders profiled in this book do indeed get it," said Diversity Best Practices President Edie Fraser." They recognize diversity as a core human strength and a competitive advantage. From their hearts they express insightful views on the importance of diversity for their businesses. We congratulate them for taking the time to be interviewed and honestly sharing their stories in a passionate and compelling way."
According to Fraser, Lanni was asked to participate in the book because of his consistent outstanding leadership in diversity since launching the company's initiative in 2000.
