CityCenter FAQs

Are there specific target goals established for minority, women, and disadvantaged businesses for CityCenter?
MGM MIRAGE does not have specific target quotas. Our corporate policy requires MWDBE participation on all construction bids. The company strives to increase its utilization of diverse contractors on all projects. CityCenter will be under construction until 2009. Our goal is to maximize MWDBE participation.

If I have worked on other MGM MIRAGE properties, do I still have to register with Perini to work on CityCenter?
Perini must pre-qualify each contractor before he/she is put on the list of bidders.

If I am certified by a governmental agency outside of Nevada, is that sufficient certification?
As long as a contractor has current certification by a government agency or legitimate certifying organization, it will be acceptable. However, companies are encouraged to be certified in Nevada.

How are MGM MIRAGE and Perini Building Company finding diverse subcontractors?
In 2006, Perini conducted monthly workshops to inform MWDBEs about the project. Also, participation in workshops, trade shows and conferences has proven to be a valuable tool in building our national database. In addition, we have launched a nationwide mailing campaign to advise contractors of opportunities that are available.

How will contractors who are entering the Las Vegas market be educated?
MGM MIRAGE and Perini have designed a Construction and Business Management Training Program for contractors working on CityCenter. The program will help enhance their business development and train them on the technical aspects of doing business with Perini.
